Teen girl writers are encouraged to submit fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for our upcoming book showcasing the voices of teenage girls. Writers are invited to submit fiction (short stories), nonfiction (personal essays and memoirs), and poetry on any theme that is 1,000 words or less. Up to three original pieces may be submitted.

Writers must be female or gender-expansive high school students in New Jersey during the 2022-2023 school year. 

The book will be published in August 2022 by Her Words Press. Writing for publication in the book will be selected by the Her Words Editorial Collective.

The submission deadline is midnight (EST) on June 30.

Writing that is submitted must be the original work of the writer and not copied from any source. It must not have been published previously or in the public domain.

Writers who are selected for publication will receive two complimentary copies of the book. All proceeds from the sale of the book will support Her Words’ free programs for teen girls in Morristown, New Jersey.
